Question 1

Do I need to be fit to take part?

Accepted Answer

No. Some activities are open to everyone, others require a moderate level of fitness. The kennel visit and the dog sled ride require no effort at all. The husky hike involves about 45 minutes of walking in the forest on a route chosen to suit the group's level, and the husky helps you on the uphill sections.

Question 2

Is there a weight limit for dog sledding?

Accepted Answer

The recommended maximum weight is about 90 kg per adult, because of the load limits set by the kart and sled manufacturers. Above this, the dog sled ride is still possible with the two-seater / over-90 kg option at CHF 50: the team then uses a larger kart or sled, pulled by more dogs and by stronger dogs.

Question 3

Can pregnant women take part?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but sled and kart activities are not recommended during pregnancy. Participation remains possible at the participant's own risk or with her doctor's approval. The museum and kennel visit is the gentlest activity.

Question 4

Can I take part if I am afraid of dogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Alpes'Huskies huskies are used to visitors and are gentle dogs; some even take part in animal-assisted therapy with people with disabilities. The best thing is to let the team know when you arrive: they will plan a calmer approach, with particularly gentle dogs, to reduce fear or anxiety as much as possible, for children and adults alike.

Question 5

Can two adults ride together on the sled?

Accepted Answer

Not in the basic package: rides are taken in turns, with one adult alone or one adult with a child. For two adults to ride together, you need to add the two-seater option at CHF 50, which provides a larger kart or sled and a stronger team.
